Money Luck Terms of Service
Apple terms also apply
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Money Luck iPhone application and related Money Luck website pages (together, the "Service") provided by Jaeyoung Kim, operating as Kkum ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple Standard EULA") applies to your licensed use of the App unless a valid custom EULA is supplied through App Store Connect. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple terms or applicable law, those requirements control to the extent of the conflict.
Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content except as stated in Apple's terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the app-license provisions and may enforce them as permitted by the Apple Standard EULA.
Eligibility
Money Luck is designed for adults aged 18 and older. You must be at least 18, legally capable of entering an agreement, and permitted to use the Service under applicable law. Do not use the Service if you are barred from doing so.
Entertainment and reflection only
Money Luck provides short money-themed fortunes and personal reflections for entertainment and personal reflection only.
The Service does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, borrowing, debt, gambling, insurance, credit, accounting, or other professional advice. A daily line is not a factual prediction, recommendation, instruction, guarantee, or promise of a financial result. It is not a signal to buy, sell, borrow, lend, spend, save, gamble, or invest.
Use your own judgment for real decisions and consult a qualified professional when appropriate. Do not delay necessary financial, legal, tax, debt, or other professional help because of content in Money Luck.
How the daily experience works
The App uses information supplied during onboarding to create derived values that shape a safe eligible pool for each home day. Subject to subscription access, device state, local time-integrity checks, content availability, and technical operation, the final line is selected when the user reveals the card:
- one result is available for each eligible home-calendar day;
- tap timing, swipes, animations, notifications, and plan choice do not select the line;
- once revealed, the day's reflection remains the same and cannot be rerolled by reopening the App;
- skipped days are not promised to remain available as unrevealed results;
- time-zone or clock changes may delay access while the App confirms a valid home day; and
- past revealed entries may remain available locally and through private iCloud restoration.
The Service does not guarantee that any reflection will feel accurate, relevant, favorable, or useful. It does not guarantee uninterrupted access, instant cross-device consistency while devices are offline.
Subscriptions, trial, billing, and cancellation
Money Luck offers auto-renewable weekly and annual subscriptions. Both plans unlock the same core App experience while active.
Annual introductory trial
Eligible users may receive a seven-day free introductory trial with the annual plan. Eligibility is determined by Apple. The current App Store offer, price, currency, duration, and renewal terms displayed in the purchase interface control. If you start an eligible trial and do not cancel before the applicable renewal deadline, Apple charges the displayed annual subscription price and the subscription renews automatically.
Weekly plan
The weekly plan renews weekly at the price displayed by Apple. It does not include a free trial unless the App Store purchase interface expressly displays one.
Payment and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account through the App Store.
- A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, subject to Apple's rules for your storefront.
- Apple may charge the renewal price within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Prices and taxes may vary by country or storefront and may change as allowed by Apple and applicable law. The purchase screen shown by Apple is the controlling price disclosure.
- Deleting the App or using
Delete Profile & Calendardoes not cancel the subscription.
Managing or cancelling
Manage or cancel the subscription in Apple's subscription settings. The App provides a link to Apple's subscription-management page where available.
Restore Purchases
Restore Purchases asks Apple to refresh eligible App Store entitlements. It does not create a Money Luck account. Profile and reveal restoration is handled separately through the user's private CloudKit database when available.
Refunds
Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests under Apple's policies, subject to rights you may have under applicable law.
Privacy, local data, and private iCloud sync
Our Privacy Policy explains information handling. This version does not create a Money Luck account or use a custom personal-data backend. A limited copy of the derived profile, assigned calendar, and reveal history is synchronized through the user's private CloudKit database. Raw birth dates, raw calibration answers, StoreKit transactions, and device-specific settings are excluded from that copy.
The App provides a Delete Profile & Calendar control. Deletion removes local Money Luck profile data, requests deletion of its private CloudKit record, and resets its analytics identity. When iCloud is unavailable, a local deletion marker prevents restoration and retries the CloudKit deletion later. This does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete purchase data Apple maintains separately.
Notifications and sharing
Notifications are optional. If enabled, timing and delivery depend on iOS and device settings; delivery is not guaranteed.
You may choose to generate and share a branded image containing a fortune line, date, and optional display name. You are responsible for reviewing the image before sharing it and for the destination and audience you choose. Third-party sharing services operate under their own terms.
License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms, the Apple Standard EULA, and payment of applicable charges, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control as permitted by Apple's usage rules.
You may not:
- copy, sell, sublicense, rent, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service except as permitted by law or written authorization;
- reverse engineer, decompile, bypass, or tamper with the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- defeat subscription, daily-reveal, clock/time-zone, content, or access controls;
- use automated systems to scrape, harvest, reproduce, or republish the fortune catalog or substantial portions of the Service;
- use the Service to mislead another person into believing Money Luck provides professional advice or guaranteed prediction;
- interfere with security, operation, or other users; or
- use the Service unlawfully or infringe another party's rights.
Ownership
The Service, including its software, visual identity, app icon, interface, fortune catalog, copy, graphics, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are transferred to you.
You retain rights in information you provide. You grant us only the limited rights necessary to process that information on your device or through the disclosed service providers to operate the Service.
Third-party services
The Service depends on Apple services for distribution, StoreKit purchases, subscription management, operating-system features, and the iOS share sheet. Limited analytics uses PostHog. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and may change or become unavailable.
References or links to third parties do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by law.
Changes and availability
We may update, improve, remove, or discontinue Service features or content. We may provide updates needed for security, compatibility, legal compliance, or continued operation. Your ability to use some features may depend on installing updates or using a supported iOS version.
We do not promise that the Service will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or future operating-system version. We will not remove paid access or materially change an active subscription in a manner that violates applicable law or App Store requirements.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal but ordinarily leaves access active until the end of the paid period, subject to Apple entitlement status.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of unlawful conduct, fraud, material breach, security risk, or legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice or an opportunity to cure.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute terms—continue to apply.
Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT A FORTUNE OR REFLECTION IS ACCURATE, PERSONALIZED IN A SCIENTIFIC OR PROFESSIONAL SENSE, OR CAPABLE OF PRODUCING OR PREVENTING A FINANCIAL OUTCOME.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these terms may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes non-waivable consumer rights.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR FINANCIAL DECISIONS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR MONEY LUCK DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer law in your place of residence may apply.
Subject to non-waivable rights, courts of competent jurisdiction in the Republic of Korea have exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, contact kkumapps@kkumapps.com so the parties can try to resolve the issue informally.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect Service, provider, legal, or business changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.
